Think back to when cable TV first appeared, could you remember how different it was back then? Going back about 20 years ago, cable TV had quite a few differences compared to what we have now. Back then, many of the channels were split up into niche channels.

Movie Reviews this week looks at the dark drama As Good As Dead. This is a very surreal movie starring Cary Elwes (Liar Liar) and the much loved Andie Macdowell (Four Weddings and a Funeral) as Ethan Belfrage and Helen Kalahan respectively, it also stars the stalwart Brian Cox (X-Men 2) as Reverend Kalahan.

A modestly moving spin-off on the classic 1983 "Tender Mercies," "Crazy Heart" is a strongly performed story of redemption of a debilitated alcoholic. This reflexively lauded critics' favorite is actually more a salute to one of America's longest high-standing stars, Jeff Bridges, than a commanding entry into the film scene. Hollywood politics may even move it into Oscar nomination.
